Day 4: Waverton, Cheshire (124 miles / 385 total miles)

MONDAY 22 JULY: A key day today as we had only cycled 3 days consecutively in preparation for LeJog and that trip finished at Whatley Manor (hardly B&B). This was our fourth and longest day in terms of mileage. Taking advantage of the flatter terrain between Monmouth and Chester we effectively completed two stages today. Not much time for photos (apart from Jason insisting he record my ‘helmet hair’). We achieved an average speed of 14.2 mph, our fastest by some margin. My main motivation was to be in Chester in sufficient time to buy Rebecca, our daughter, her evening meal. As a cash strapped soon to be graduate of Chester Uni she naturally she chose the most expensive dish!
