Michel Roux Jr's Le Gavroche wins Decanter Restaurant of the Year 2015

Le Gavroche wins Decanter magazine and Champagne Laurent-Perrier’s Restaurant of the Year 2015

exteriorAfter much deliberation by the team at Decanter, one of the UK’s most noted wine magazines, we are delighted to announce Michel Roux Jr’s Le Gavroche as the winner of the Decanter/Laurent-Perrier Restaurant of the Year 2015.

Restaurants in London may come and go but Le Gavroche which, in 1982, became the first UK restaurant to earn three Michelin stars has stood the test of time and consistenly offers relaxed yet refined cuisine from its location in Upper Brook Street.

Notable alumni from the kitchen include Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay, Marcus Wareing, Bryn Williams, and Michael Smith highlighting just how instrumental this restaurant has been and continues to be in the UK restaurant scene.

Le Gavroche's lobster & roquefort gratinWhile the restaurant may have stood the test of time since 1967, the cuisine served inside certainly hasn’t stayed static, always evolving to match changing palettes while always respecting the classicism upon which it was founded. Guests will find dishes that push the boundaries a bit with Asian spices and South American methods such as their twist on sea bass ceviche, alongside more traditional fare such as lobster and roquefort gratin. Very different in style but equally excellent in their execution and flavour.
